When checking in chrome://system I see there are some built-in browser extensions.

chrome://system

Can you remove these extensions (at least with Google Hangouts) or install them as regular extensions so you can remove them on the extensions page if you don't use them?

These are built into the browser by default by Google, and we just take measures to display them.

If we remove these built-in extensions, it will break the functionality of the browser.

But in the future, influenced by previous online public opinion, we may turn off Google Hangouts by default.

@gz83 When I tested Supermium, I only saw the built-in Web Store and Chromium PDF Viewer extensions, they successfully removed Google Hangouts.

You may not need to remove them, just install them as regular extensions, allowing users to uninstall/disable them if not in use.

P/s: Sorry for mentioning another product.

The Google Hangouts extension can be disabled via a compile-time parameter, and we may address this in a subsequent update.

These built-in extensions should be disabled by default and only enabled when used.
But anyway, it's nice to know.

The web store and pdf viewer are two extensions that we probably wouldn’t consider turning off by default, as turning them off by default would break browser functionality and hurt usability.

Well at least disable/remove Google Hangouts, it's literally useless. I thought it would be used when opening Google Hangouts on the browser but when I tested it, it wasn't triggered in any case, it's useless.
