The 'master' default branch naming convention may carry insensitive historical connotations. We should to switch to 'main' to promote inclusivity and respect.

Reasons for Transition

  1. Inclusive Language: The term 'master' has been historically associated with slavery and oppressive systems. By adopting the 'main' branch naming, we align our terminology with more neutral and inclusive language.

  2. Community and Industry Trends: Many open-source projects and industry leaders have already made the shift to 'main' as the default branch name. This change will help us stay current and maintain consistency within the broader development community.

Proposed Plan

  1. Notify active developers about proposed change.

  2. Follow instructions from Github for renaming branches.
