High-aspect ratio wings may require foldable wing tips, like for the Boeing 777. To be able to evaluate such designs we, e.g. in the Virtual Product House (VPH), require a parametric description of such devices and the surrounding environment.
In a first step we will:
collect functional requirements
determine a design description on a CPACS-equivalent descriptive level
evaluate different definition possiblities (definition of hinge-line; strage as componentsegment, two seperate wings, ...)
attempt an initial schema extension
Feel free to add any requirements for ground and flight usage of FWTs here.
