Please add the Android app to FDroid which is an alternative APK repository to Google Play.

Many Android devices do not have access to Google Play Store and choose to remove Google Play Services for privacy. Please allow any Android users to download the app and receives updates from FDroid.

Absolutely 👍 to this!

An extra alternative would be to simply provide the APK directly on the downloads page of the main website.

Or to maybe just ask:
Is there a place to directly download the official APK?

I found a place where an APK can be downloaded, but not sure how safe / official it is:
https://digibytewallets.com/apps/android_3.0.3.5.apk

Here is more feedback from F-Droid to get this app included https://gitlab.com/fdroid/rfp/-/issues/1973#note_798978341

Other question, is this app still actively maintained?

Friendly ping regarding https://gitlab.com/fdroid/rfp/-/issues/1973#note_798978341 Otherwise we close that request for packaging for now and reopen it when DigiByte Android app show activity again. Thanks.

I learned from a Firo developer about this Android wallet that: "wallet is not standard compliant and can't be fixed(without breaking backwards compatibility). Recomend using any other standard compliant wallet like Coinomi or Ledger"
