How to update Hypseus Singe on Retropie ?

HI DirtBagXon, I have already installed a previous version of Hypseus on my Retropie 4.8.8 (Raspberry PI5 8GB), now I want to update Hypseus to latest version, with Retropie, but I want also mantain my actual "hypinput.ini" (Input config file).
Normally, other emulators in Retropie are updated automatically by Retropie Setup, for exapmle, after downloading latest "Retropie Setup Script", and then running "Update" (to update from 4.8.8 to 4.8.9), every "outdated emulator" is also "updated by this process", instead Hypseus won't update, and if I try to update it, from "retropie-setup" / experimental packages, I cannot see "update hypseus"...
what method can i use to update it ? (remove, and reinstall ?)

Haven't heard of any issues. It has been updating from Retropie-Setup fine as far as I am aware.

What version shows on the splashscreen when you start it up ?

Just backup your hypinput.ini file so you have a means to restore it if it does get replaced.

There is a PR to update the scriptmodule in the RetroPie repo which hasn't been accepted yet, you could try that if all else fails. See: RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup#3974

Error is in src/io/zippp.cpp which is a third party library: https://github.com/ctabin/libzippp

It's probably down to some change in the Mint Linux distribution libzip version.

So how can i solve the problem ?,
maybe you can use another zip program/method/function (most standard than "libzippp" to read zipped singe games, personally I prefer to uncompress singe games in a directory ".daphne" before playing, like 6 months ago...
Or maybe I can try to reinstall hypseus singe previuos version (where is the old singe download? v2.1.1.2), because only latest singe v 2.1.1.4 introduce this bug...

Other solved my-own questions:

• Instead on my Raspberry Pi5 I solved the update problem, maybe "sudo" has created some protected files/directory....
  and finally I have removed and reinstalled hypseus singe latest version 2.1.1.4, and now works fine...

• And If already exist an "hypinput.ini" pre-configured, the singe update, not overwrite it (and it's very good).

Try asking in the Mint Linux forums. Current source compiles fine on latest Arch and Debian Linux, Mac and Windows.

This seems to be a Mint Linux issue at this point.
See if you can get find more info on the libzip version they are using from the details above.
Compile the source manually following the repo instructions. That way you can debug.

Your noted Pi5 and RetroPie-Setup installation is behaving as it should now, and as I would expect.

You have an old, old version of Mint Linux ? You probably need to update your base OS.

You need libzip 1.3.0 or later.

I have installed Libzip 1.2, and many other zip software on linux mint (today), but the error in compiler is the same,
i also upgraded GCC to latest GCC-8... but the error is the same...
I also downloaded (but I don't know if it's correctly installed libzippp ,
but also the author of software don't know how to install LIBZIPPP on linux,
Next I have installed vcpkg, before installing with "sudo ./vcpkg install libzippp"....

But every author of proper software , dont' know all dependencies..........
Seems impossible...but true...

From the error, all you need to upgrade is libzip - at this point nothing else has given an error.

libzippp - you don't have to install this, you need to give it libzip 1.3 or higher to work.

Your version of libzip 1.2 is too old.

Edit: I also see from your other GitHub query you are running Mint release 19 - this was released in 2018 and is now out of support.

This is an issue with the RetroPie scriptmodule now: PR: RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup#3974

Please bug them to review the PR.

However, you can fix this yourself. Just run the following on the command line

sudo apt-get install libsdl2-mixer-dev
