Hide image when viewing post details

Is it possible to hide images when going into.comments view (eg. tapping on the main segment of the post rather than the thumbnail)? Having the ability to hide that would be great and make the interface more nicely compact. In addition, I don't really need to see autoplaying video in the comment view; it's just distracting (and NSFW video is not blurred when entering post detail view).
