Entire extension menu not opening

Describe the bug
When pressing the shortcut f8 OR trying to open the extension in the menu bar, the menu that appears from it doesn't load.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Press the shortcut for opening the Simple Tab Groups menu
2. It is stuck on the white loading placeholder

OR

1. Click on the icon of Simple Tab Groups in the menu bar.
2. It is stuck on the white loading placeholder

Expected behavior
The normal menu of the extension should appear.

With some more testing, I saw that these shortcuts also do not work:
load next group
add new group
create backup
open manage groups
