What happened?

WebView2 does not allow signing into sony.com, myaccount.sony.com, playstation.com, etc. which means the PS Remote Play App which uses WebView2 for sign-in fails to allow user verification.

By default, Edge will also block sign-in to these websites; however, other browsers work fine.
Opening a link from the sign-in page to the Sony site and trying to disable tracking prevention also does not allow sign in.

Thanks for reporting this bug. @yildirimcagri-msft do you have an idea about this issue?

I am on Firefox and facing the same issue. @Tamsus which browsers are working for you?

@SayakMukhopadhyay using Chrome has no issues for me.

MS Edge likewise causes this error; however, adding exceptions for my.account.sony.com, sony.com, and playstation.com to the tracking prevention settings in Edge allow the Captcha to load and a successful sign in. These adjusted settings unfortunately do not carryover into WebView2.

This issue is causing many Windows users to have problems using "PS Remote Play".
We need to address this issue as soon as possible, as it has a significant impact.
I have tried and tried, but I am in the same situation as the poster, unable to use Remote Play.

Hi, is this still broken to you on Edge 119? For me, the captcha screen seems to properly show up both in Edge and the app during PSN login.

I am able to get a captcha now; however, it looks like the Sony site's login screen is new and just got worse because I'm getting a new error Edge and now Chrome browsers on PC - no issue on my phone.

It appears to be new and tracked on this other thread:

I also cannot repro this on my side, is there any output in DevTools console? In any case, there seems to be a Chromium bug opened for this issue, which the WebView2 would need to take the fix for once it's resolved in upstream.

Since the ps remote app uses Edge (and you can't change this behavior) the issue lies there. Installing the beta version of Edge had no effect, same issue.

I had the same error. I disabled hardware acceleration in the Edge browser and now it works fine.
I suspected it was because when I tried to log in with Firefox, the browser would freeze and the cpu would overload.

That fixed it for me too, thanks!

Is there any solution for chrome users? I am facing the same issue on chrome

Try turning off hardware acceleration in the browser settings.
