Hi,

What is the latest version for Docker on Windows? as of The Release-Notes from Docker there are fixes for Windows in newer Releases than 20.10.9 so i would assume there is a newer version, however i can't find a newer version using Find-Package -providerName DockerMsftProvider -AllVersions no matter what i do.

thx in advance

Tuxinator

Bumping this.. Did someone get fired who supported this feed?

Feed ending in 20.10.9: https://dockermsft.azureedge.net/dockercontainer/DockerMsftIndex.json

The official feed has quite a few new versions, but not sure what exact build is used for the Microsoft provider and plugins

Official Versions (currently 20.10.22): https://download.docker.com/win/static/stable/x86_64/

Who is maintaining this? Microsoft?

doesn't look like this will get solved soon, so i am looking for an alternative installation method to install docker on Windows Server 2022 which provides updates.

Just discovered this warning: 31b4be3

The Link in there points to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/virtualization/windowscontainers/quick-start/set-up-environment?tabs=dockerce which mentions different install methods. Still i am unsure, which would best match to this DockerMsftProvider, would it be "Docker CE/Moby" or "The Mirantis Container Runtime/Docker EE" ?

Seems like their should be some actions we can do with the DockerMsftProvider, just have to find the appropriate person in charge.

This use this.

Not sure if another Oneman-Project will do the Job for our Production Systems, sorry. Thx for the Link anyway.

It's not my fault that the task of packaging Docker for Windows is small enough that it can be done single-handedly :)

If you need something more enterprisey, there's Mirantis Container Runtime for just $900 per server per year. However, I believe the latest version they offer is only 20.10.14: https://repos.mirantis.com/win/static/stable/x86_64/ even though there are already 20.10.23 and 23.0.0 released upstream.

that is strange hmm, looks like they don't provide the latest version of their own stuff ;-)

This case shows its always good to check where the code comes from.
After checking your website and translating it, i discovered you are a Russian Citizen, i personally for sure wont trust Russian Code installation for a critical component at the current Time. Really sorry for you and its nothing against you personally, just a matter of current Worldwide happenings.

Looks like i finally found a statement on why the DockerMsftProvider is dead: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/containers/reminder-updates-to-windows-container-runtime-support/ba-p/3620989
