Background, context, and business value

We are currently working on a main branch on github for this project which is connected to a project on app where the client is doing testing and exporting the latest changes to their local instance of OpenFn. We want to do new developments(Phase II work) in the coming weeks that should not be released for use to the client just yet. This issue is for creating a staging branch for this project which will connect to a newly created staging project on App.

Prod and Staging project Spaces:

The specific request, in as few words as possible

Request Type: Configuration

What needs to be done:

  1. Create a staging branch
  2. Create a PR from main to staging
  3. The credentials need to be setup for the staging project , they are currently owned by @mtuchi
  4. Setup github sync from staging branch to staging project
  5. For the github sync setup, you can follow the steps outlined here
  6. Make changes to the docs if the steps you followed are different from what's outlined here

Resources

  1. Instructions for Github sync
  2. New project space - link

Testing Guidance

  • Make sure that all the workflows in the main project are in the staging project configured exactly the same way
  • Make sure that the workflows have credentials configured for them
  • Make sure that the workflows are running successfully

Okay the naming convention for these project is really confusing, I think before we implement this issue we should first rename the repos on GitHub. I think it's very important we match project names because that is the first thing you use to navigate between the projects

@mtuchi let's do it! Maybe you and Aisha can plan to pair on this next week. Also @AishaHassen the diagram is wrong and the metadata and mosul repos are in the incorrect place
