Session Name Tinker Day: Complete an electronic project in a night Abstract Build
Student Organisation organising this session Session intent (what to expect) Participants will first gain confidence in doing electronics project by assembling components according to schematics, then proceed to learn about soldering. It will be a very self-directed learning, where the schematics is shown on the screen and the participants will assemble the project by themselves. Facilitators will be present to look out for safety and answer the participants We offer 2 level of difficulties will be offered - Basic for people who have no confidence in electronics and Advanced for people who wish to challenge themselves to soldering. Level 1: Basic assembly of the components using quick release terminal block No prerequisite or prior knowledge is required Session details Max 18 participants per session Require booking of venue on the 27th May and 3rd June Speakers/Workshop facilitators 3 facilitators from Energy club Logistical details Logistics will be provided by Energy Club, using leftover materials from previous tinker day workshops. @baijialong I think you should hold it at fab lab, would that be possible? soldering in a CC will make it hard for us to book it |
In that case, if they forbid soldering in cohort classroom, then we will remove the soldering component of the workshop. In previous experience (feb 2019), EHS requires us to have a protective cover over the table when conducting workshop involving soldering. Not sure if they have updated their policy again. We would prefer the workshop to be held in the classroom. |
