Not playing next title on specific Audiobooks

Overview

Using Version 8.2.3 Voice is stopping at the end of a audio file, not going to the next chapter.
Particularly it ads 35 seconds to the actual playtime of the file, then stopping actual playtime.
Only way to continue is to select next file in chapter list manually.
For instance: File is 7:08 long, Voice displays 7:43 playtime, stopping at 7:08 and not continuing. (Going into "Pause state").

This is only for particularly audiobooks, others play well, all are MP3 files.

How to reproduce

1. Start Playing chapter
2. On the end of chapter Voice stops, not going to next chapter.
3. Select next chapter manually, will stop again on the end.

I am observing almost the same behaviour on Android 14 (Samsung) with Voice v.8.2.3 from the Play Store.

When an audiobook consists of multiple files, the player stops ~5 s shy of the end of each file and won't proceed to the next file. To be exact, the app reports that the playback stopped those few seconds before the end of the file, even though I have never noticed the playback being stopped, e.g., mid-sentence. (Perhaps the reported length of each file is wrong as suggested by @marttasch?)

If the sleep timer is active, it remains active (no change in the respective icon) until one "stops" it manually.

This started happening after the last update of the app approx. a week ago (not sure of the app version before the update).

Possibly of note:

• I always switch my phone to the aeroplane mode in the evenings before I open Voice and start listening.
• May be related to Sleep timer not stopping playback #2605.
