to reproduce:

  • upload a shape file, and view in maploom for verification
  • in geonode layer detail page, select download layer, download as geojson
  • rename the downloaded geojson file to a unique file/layername not in geoserver / geonode
  • upload the layer as ususal into the default geonode_imports postgis data store
  • verify upload succeeded and data renders properly in maploom
  • rename the geojson that was downloaded to a new unique file name
  • upload the geojson file into a geogig repo
  • when it complete, not that zoom to data of the layer in maploom will take you to where the data is which is not where original data was.
