TEASER calculates approximately double the solar gains than tabula. This is due to the fact that only the total window area and g-values match the window parameters for solar gains of tabula.
The following aspects would be needed to change to match the tabula calculation:

  • The transparent window area is always the same as the total window area
  • No option to set the transparent area based on AWin*(1-frame area fraction) as in tabula with a frame area fraction of 0.3
  • Teaser assumes the same window area for all orientation instead of different distributions based on the construction year in tabula
  • The external shading factor is 1.0 instead of 0.6 as in tabula

But due to the poor generalization of these aspects and the performance gap to measured values, the current assumptions in TEASER could be kept.
