Bug description

No later than Jan 22 2025, YouTube Music patched with Revanced stopped working with Android Auto. The app does not display as a selectable app and vehicle controls do not control the music when connected via AA. I attempted reinstalling the app, using different versions, and restarting both my Android Auto session and the phone itself at different steps in the uninstall-reinstall process. Re-activating stock YT Music, I can see it in the Android Auto interface, but disabling it again and resetting YT Music revanced didn't resolve this.

I used all default patches, and believe, from previous experience, that this has to do with the Bypass Certificate Checks patch. I'm unable to check logs at this moment, but if not resolved, will do so when I have a chance.

Going through #4339 might help.

So that thread details a different issue I believe. In my case, it worked for several days, then stopped working suddenly, whereas that thread seems to be detailing about installation on a new device not working. That said, the one thing they tried that I have not is deleting AA cache, which I will do shortly. To be clear, I had the same issue happen 4 or 5 months ago, but within 24 hrs, revanced-patches had an update, the notable update for YT Music was an update to Bypass Certificate Checks, which is why Iade mention of that patch, although based off the threads, it seems I am the only one facing issues at this time. I will test out deleting cache in a couple hours

Issue is still present after deleting AA cache, restarting phone, downgrading to older YT Music, uninstalling AA updates then reinstalling as required, and also testing with RVX. I'll have to get a logcat when I have more time, but it seems very much like it's an issue with the Bypass Certificate Checks patch

So I figured it out. I did get a new phone and I did have YT Music revanced working on it BUT it in theory shouldn't have worked. I didn't activate developer mode on my new phone, so when an update occured, that broke whatever settings transferred over that allowed it I guess. That's just a theory, but it is working now, so I guess alls good.
