RTL8720DN Project

is there any interest or future projects in the works using the RTL8720DN Dev Module for an all-in-one AP+Client, WiFi Scanner, War-Driver, and anything else? I also have not found any IDE libraries or example coding to manipulate the individual 2.4GHz & 5GHz individual radios for things like controlling their channels, device assignments & management, and anything else typical of advanced wifi controls. The reason I am interested in these type of things is to build a portable network for wifi testing purposes, then graduate to bigger things like MESH networking, include a GPS and Cellular modules for Wardriving and whatever else comes to mind.
