Failed to run on Ubuntu 24.10, how to debug?

I built niri from source and installed these file:

Niri appears on GDM. But after logging-in to it, I am immediately kicked out. Could someone tell me how to debug, to see what's wrong?

I looked into journalctl --user -e but don't see the session of niri (only see GNOME Shell session).

I don't see the niri binary in your list.

Also check niri.service if you updated the path to point to /usr/local/bin/niri

It has no results:

Sounds like it doesn't start. I guess you'll need to dig in journalctl -b
