Support GPU rendering on SPPM #119
Comments
Hello, I'm not sure if I will achieve GPU rendering anytime soon but I've started by getting a new PC with a good RTX2060 graphics card. Of course that PC is for other things not only YafaRay, but I kept in mind YafaRay very much when I decided to get it with that graphics card. I want to start investigating this possibility but cannot make any promises as my free time is limited! |
What exactly do we need for implemanting GPU compution? Recoding from
scratch?

I don't know yet but I hope not! When I was doing tests with Intel Embree I had to recode some big chunks but not all. However a very difficult thing to do is to check how software licenses would work and to decide the overall architecture so all the pieces plug in together nicely (hopefully). |
Ahh. Of course, LICENSING are different in different software I guess.
Regards,
Odilkhan Yakubov.
