technical help with AA2 in 2022

hi! I'm trying to download mods onto my game, my game works pretty much perfectly fine its just the AA2install v7.1 is saying whenever I try and synchronize that "FAILED: AA2play/AA2edit is not installed/ cannot be found". but I know that it should be working since I have several saves on my game and my game works pretty good on my cheap laptop but its just this issue that wont allow me to experience AA2 to the fullest #enhancement
