For anyone hitting this, the Request does not match the carton count on file expect count nonsensical error message appears to be due to having too many "cartons" in a shipment at the time of PUT https://sellingpartnerapi-na.amazon.com/fba/inbound/v0/shipments/*/transport. I suspect this new bug is occurring for anything over 999 cartons.

Seller Support has confirmed this is a bug in the https://developer-docs.amazon.com/sp-api/docs/fulfillment-inbound-api-v0-reference#puttransportdetails call, although in curiously Orwellian fashion, they referred to it as a "limitation" rather than a "bug".

Seems like from 1000 and beyond it only works in multiples of 1000's
ex. 1000, 2000, 3000 etc.

Interesting. Is that speculative, or did you actually get a 2000 or 3000 carton shipment to work?

Hello everyone,

In my use case, I just can't call putTransportDetails to update the number of cartons. For example, if I assigned 3 cartons at the first time when I call putTransportDetails, then the order has to be shipped in 3 cartons, when I call putTransportDetails again to change to 1 carton or 2 cartons, it gives an error:

Request does not match the carton count on file expect count 3, actual count 1, ignoring

Does anyone here have the need to adjust the number of cartons?

@haoxi911 that is almost certainly an example of the call working as intended, and anything regarding that would warrant filing a new issue. I failed to mention it in my original comment, but this ticket is only about sending the correct count in the call. https://developer-docs.amazon.com/sp-api/docs/fulfillment-inbound-api-v0-reference#partneredltldatainput needs additional documentation on that, but the BoxCount field is presumably always required to be the value created in the shipment.

@midi-red I didn't, I ended up by displaying a warning message before calling the putTransportDetails API for the first time. Once it is called, the number of cartons / boxes will be fixed.
