Webadmin works just fine when I want a list of nodes or to see all relationships of a specific node but when I press the view mode I just get a grey screen instead of my graph as if I have no data.

I'm having the same experience. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Sorry, I don't know what the problem is.
If possible you should try using the standalone neo4j server which comes included with the web admin UI
and use that together with the neo4j.rb and embedded Neo4j, see https://github.com/andreasronge/neo4j/wiki/Neo4j%3A%3Aha-cluster
