[v41] Unable to access in-game Service Menu in new MAME core #13278
Comments
I can't reproduce the issue you have Try to delete |
Accidentally closed it. |
Delete the MAME folder from |
I can't find that folder in share\system\configs. I wonder if that's the issue? I have: amiberry |
Ok try to create the |
Nope, still doesn't work. The folder is still there but its empty. Not sure if its related, but I noticed that when I deleted es_input.cfg and es_last_input.cfg, after restarting the PC, it didn't ask me to re-configure the controls. It just seemed to already know what I was using. I manually reconfigured the controller but that didn't work either. |

Issue description
There's no ability to set controls per game, access the in-game dipswitches, or way to get into the Service Menu in the new MAME core.
Detailed reproduction steps
Start any game in the new MAME core in v41 (not MAME2003plus) and press L3, or Tab, or F2 (default settings) and nothing happens. Pressing L3 in MAME2003plus brings up the Service Menu just fine.
Details of any attempts to fix this yourself
I remapped my controls through ES and Retroarch, switched controllers, used a keyboard and hit F2/Tab (not that menu), searched through all off the obvious cfg files looking for any mention of "F2" or "Tab", I reinstalled v41 twice, I tried several different games, searched everywhere I could online and tried their solutions (i.e., everything I just described), and lastly, I asked for assistance in Discord and received no response.
Details of any modifications you have made to Batocera.
No mods, straight Batocera.linux.
Logs and data
There are no logs because nothing is technically "broken" just unable to access the Service Menu.
