Hi All, @Geoyi suggested that I bring this up since from my perspective, health systems are able to address PPE very differently based on their resources. Those serving more affluent communities or are better resourced academic medical centers have the PPE for now and are able to supply their staff. However, hospitals serving low income communities and rely heavily on Medicaid are following much more stricter rationing of PPE. We could consider using DSH or disproportionate share hospital adjustment to adjust for these differences across hospital systems. CMS publishes SSI percentage used to calculate DSH patient percent (most recent numbers are from 2018).
