All alerts ?

I am supposed to receive an alert by email for every new comment or question. It does not work.

Same trouble for me. More precisely, in "Notifications and subscription settings":

• I selected "Instantly" for every item in "Notify me when",
• I checked every check box except "Send me the daily digest with information about the site activity",

and, AFAICS, I'm not notified about new questions (hence, though "A new question is posted" asked "Instantly" and "Auto subscribe me to:" "All questions" is checked).

A reply was posted today and I did not get an email about it.

But when this reply had a comment, I was warned by email. Why?
