KDE has extension for Google Chrome / Chromium to provide integration with Plasma (and partly XFCE) desktop (Media playback, file downloads, KDE Connect etc). It's called Plasma Browser Integration. Unfortunately it doesn't work with Flatpak version.

This is basically because native hosts need to be re-packaged for the Flatpak, these aren't available yet

The mechanisms for this to work just aren't in place yet, there's a relevant portal PR for this but I'm not sure what the status is (we discussed it a bit at LAS, don't recall if the PR author was actually there though).

Sorry to bump this, but is this still not possible? In the above PR, it looks like some distros (ubuntu) have already patched in support but I don't think fedora?
