I am getting the same behavior (Template created and cloned but VM powered off) and error with Centos 6.5. Here is the complete stack-trace:
The workaround that I found was deploying the OVF file myself via the GUI : (File>Deploy OVF Template). Then, I can bring clones up without problem when running |
The other workaround that I have found, is by creating the base image myself with packer and user the vsphere packer post-processor to upload the machine directly to vsphere. Then the vagrant-vcenter can automatically clone it and configure it without any issues. |
The guest was unable to be customized but the VM was created, powered off in vcenter. I received the following error.
~/.vagrant.d/gems/gems/vagrant-rbvmomi-1.8.1/lib/rbvmomi/vim/Task.rb:11:in `wait_for_completion': UncustomizableGuest: Customization of the guest operating system 'rhel7_64Guest' is not supported in this configuration. Microsoft Vista (TM) and Linux guests with Logical Volume Manager are supported only for recent ESX host and VMware Tools versions. Refer to vCenter documentation for supported configurations. (RbVmomi::Fault)
Vagrant thinks the VM has not been created and it cannot be destroyed. Any ideas where I can start looking in the code for this bug?
