vowel placement #20
Comments
Thank you for reaching out.
There is a lot more information about our project here -- which is where
the actual research happens https://github.com/fulldecent/formant-analyzer
Are you able to share some sound samples, annotations for those recordings
(i.e. which vowel is it supposed to be), and the formant numbers you are
seeing in the app?
Have you used any other formant tools, are they providing different number
that we could compare to?
Also, please make sure to use plug in head phones. These are MUCH more
reliable than the built in microphone.

Hi Will,Here are two examples of what I receive as input:The first word is SO:
Thé second word is HI
I bought this app to help my students to see what they are pronouncing. Simple vowels can be problematic, diphtongues are definitely a problem. In any case, at least one of the vowel sounds in HI should be located correctly. The third word STILL is also strangely placed.
I would very much like to use this ap, but it’s useless as is. Help!
Sincerely
Ronda Lewis

I've tried several one syl/one vowel words and the vowel is not placed correctly when I go to "Frmnt" (formant). This is the main reason I bought the app (to help my EFL students). this is not usable as is. Any way to fix it?
