spell checking in kmail

Hi,

Thanks a lot for Geckolinux and the effort of making it as user friendly as possible. But now, I'm just struggling with spell checking in the plasma destkop on Geckolinux Tumbleweed. So far, I think I have everything installed related to spell checking (hunspell, myspell, aspell) and my preferred language which is German. But somehow, I'm not able to choose another language in the systemsettings than English.

Do anyone face the same issue?

Hi there, wouldn't the spellchecking language normally be changed in the specific application, in this case Kmail? Or are you also trying to change the interface language?

Oh, sorry for the misleading Title.

Nope, interface language seems to be fine. In "systemsettings -> regional settings -> spell check" you can set the appropriate language for your country. Here I can not set anything other than English. As far as I'm aware if you are not able to set the language here you will not have any luck with the spell check language settings in KMail.

Besides that, I noticed KMail has a mixed translation. Here and there I do see English text especially in the settings section.

Hmm, did you install the specific regional myspell package such as myspell-de_DE in addition to myspell-de ? It appears to be working for me:

As for the mixed interface language, please try running again the GeckoLinux "Language installer" script.

Thanks a lot for the help! Installing myspell-de_DE did the trick. Also running the language installer script cured the mixed Kmail translation experience ;-)
