When calling append_grid_corners with a stretch factor of 1.0 and (lon, lat) that isn't (170, -90), the function should print a warning to the user of possible unexpected outcomes.

I guess many will just want to be adding the grid corners to an unstretched, unrotated grid, as opposed to be rotating it!
