A currently mostly empty draft is there:

https://github.com/git/git.github.io/blob/master/rev_news/drafts/edition-19.md

Feel free to comment in this issue, or to use the edit button (that looks like a pen) to edit and create a pull request with the changes you would like.

Thanks!

@tfnico we should perhaps write a few lines about Nicola who helped us during the first issues and the setup especially of MailChimp. And we could also say that we are looking for new persons to help us.

Let's try to publish edition 19 on Wednesday September 14.

By the way I forgot about MailChimp again, so I will try again to remember to use it this time.

@chriscool sorry I'm a bit late on the ball here. I'll add my links tonight. Thanks for taking care of MailChimp :)

+1 on the call-for-help thing, and thanking Nicola for his help.

I'll try to come up with a proper pull request a bit later, but Git User's Survey 2016 is up!

Johannes Schindelin (@dscho) work on sequencer-izing and builtinification of interactive rebase: patches, discussion, his writeup on his blog; I'll try to come up with a pull request.

LWN.net short article: Danko: Next steps for Gmane, with back-references to Git Rev News posting about Gmane and public-inbox.

I couldn't find if it was posted or not, but there is another take on using Git to create step-by-step tutorial as project history (sometimes called gitorial), I think, namely literate-git; see demo from 2016-08-13.

There is also the GitLab master plan and the related HN thread.

@jnareb thanks for the links! Adding them here locally, will push in some minutes.

@chriscool OK, finally got my links in after yak-shaving Jekyll/ruby locally again for an hour. For some reason my local installation of bundler was outdated, so the site wouldn't run. So I didn't have so much energy left for making the links look much nicer.

@tfnico I'll send pull request with Git User's Survey as a story, possibly separate pull request with Dscho work. (so not to duplicate work).

@jnareb oh yeah that would be great to have a larger piece on the survey. Note that I coincidentally just pushed a link to it on line 397. Feel free to (re)move that.

@tfnico See pull request #182 about Git User's Survey 2016 (link in "Other news" removed).
If it gets un-removed when merging next request, it doesn't matter.

Yet another link: Deveo: List of equivalent commands in Git, Mercurial, and Subversion - not sure if worth including.

@jnareb please copy your suggestion about the Deveo list of commands to the issue for the next edition if you want it to be included:

#186

Thanks!

Closing this as edition 19 has been published a long time ago.
