I wanted to know what the status of this project was, is this just a personal fork or are you trying to maintain and use it?

Hi Joshua,
we (GridCF, see https://gridcf.org/) have actually "adopted" uberftp since JasonAlt no longer maintained it and are now the maintainers of the latest stable version which is also the source for Fedora and EPEL, see https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/uberftp
It made sense to include it since we are also the maintainers of the stable and supported continuation of the globus toolkit, now the Grid Community Toolkit (GCT), which is of course a dependency for uberftp. As for uberftp, the gct is also the basis for the packages in fedora & EPEL (and Debian).
Best wishes,
Mischa

Wow, ok, I thought this project and the open source GridFTP project had mostly died. Good to know.
