If we saved model output like NWM2.1 with 99% real information content, it would seem like the metrics would not change significantly, and we might save a lot of space.
Here's an example of computing keepbits for some gauges:

The keepbits vary a lot with gage, because some records have low information content. But if we used the max keepbits, seems we should be okay.
