Which statement is this issue about?

Title: Propagation of data standards.md
Link: "https://github.com/iodepo/OceanDecade-dsig/blob/main/statements/Propagation of data standards.md"

Who should know about this issue?

@TRasehlomi

What would you like to add to or change in the statement?

I'd like to include Pacific Developing Small Island States (PSIDS) in the statement. We have many of the same challenges such as the need for capacity building in data management, analysis, and use, particularly for small island states where resources may be limited.

Recommendations could involve:

  • training programs, workshops, and partnerships with international data organizations.
  • consider incorporating a framework for technical assistance for implementing various aspects of the data strategy, including infrastructure development, data collection, and analysis.

I don't want to confuse or conflate issues so we may want a separate the PSIDS statement to address their unique needs. Happy to listen and discuss other views!

There's a regional priorities section in the pre-release draft. We can add region-specific content to each of its subsections.

It's okay if there's repetition there
