Fish Tab Completion "command not found"

I have mise installed via homebrew, so usage is added as a dependency. Below are the versions of both.

$ mise --version

$ usage --version
usage-cli 2.0.3

Tab complete no longer works with mise remove which was surprising. Also when I attempt to tab complete with mise use I get an error message below. The <tab> is when I pressed tab.

$ mise use pyth<tab>sh: line 21: #                                                                                                                                                             08:36:01

complete installed_tool@version run=r#: command not found

I do have this in my fish.config because I needed the shim options.

if status is-interactive
    mise activate fish | source
else
    mise activate fish --shims | source
end

yeah I'm seeing this myself, not sure why at first glance
