it'd be nice to have the possibility to publish native variants for specific os-arch combinations, something like this

        <configuration>
          <variants>
            <variant>
              <os>normalizedOs</os>
              <arch>normalizedArch</arch>
              <files>
                <file>native_library.so<file>
              <files>
            </variant>
          </variants>
        </configuration>

This is a step in the big picture (I don't know if you already had a chance to read it)
