More items issue at the end of widgets

Hi Jurial and all,
I know this skin is not your focus, so sorry for the question.
I am running a very lean home page, less than 5 widgets per main menu item.
All local content, widgets get their content from smart playlists.
The smart playlists are set to a max of 10 items.
I would like to limit items using auto fit to width ie. poster wigdets get just 7 items etc.
Regardless of whether I have "show more items" checked in skin settings or not, any widget that is limited to auto, 10, or anything else gets the more items option at the end of the widget. It does have the correct behaviour if the limit is set to none, and doesn't show the more items choice.
Is there anything I can do here to blanket stop the more items button while auto fitting my widgets to width?
I'm happy to play in the .xmls if required, I had a look but quickly got lost.
