@mmurph3 any more context on this one? I've been in the opinionated camp that we don't want to support cust Prom for KC cloud.

@dwbrown2 enterprise customer was asking about this only because they are already running prom in their environment.

I'd be more inclined to progress towards a Prom-less agent than support custom Prometheus for our cloud agent, but interested to hear what others are thinking including @ameijer @AjayTripathy and @teevans

@dwbrown2 I am finding myself on team prom-less as well. The support headache for custom prom installs remains a problem, as far as I know. Also, prometheus' resource requirements can be substantial for customers of a certain scale... which is why we get asked about BYO prom to try and mitigate that. I am hopeful we can revisit the design work on promless in the medium term
