When opening the Software Manager the user is greeted with the following message:
The average Joe has no clue what that means. Frankly, I have no clue why I need to wait for it to generate the cache before I can see anything either. But that's irrelevant and I don't want to know. It's an implementation detail, and writing "Loading...", "Loading software..." or "Loading apps..." should be enough. "one moment" is also odd phrasing, and if it's really necessary, ", please wait..." should do.

I think "one moment" is better than "please wait" as it indicates that it won't take long, potentially reducing user frustration. "please wait" is ok if it takes 1-2 seconds but by 3-5 seconds, people are thinking "well I wonder how long this is going to take, 10 minutes? and hour?".
