"Need Guidance to Complete My Deep Learning Project: LipSync - Help Required!

Hello everyone,

I am currently working on a deep learning project aimed at generating realistic LipSync animations from audio inputs, similar to projects like Wav2Lip. I have made some progress, but I'm facing challenges in completing the project, especially in the following areas:

Project Details:

• Objective: Generate accurate lip movements synced with input audio using deep learning models.
• Technologies Used: Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, OpenCV, and other relevant libraries.
• Current Status: I have set up the basic architecture, preprocessed my data, and started training a model. However, I'm struggling with achieving realistic results.

Challenges I'm Facing:

1. Model Training: My model is not syncing the lips accurately with the audio. I'm not sure if the issue lies in the model architecture, loss function, or training data quality.
2. Dataset: I have a limited dataset and I'm uncertain if it's sufficient for this task. Would you recommend specific datasets for LipSync that work well?
3. Loss Function and Metrics: I’m struggling to select the right loss functions and evaluation metrics. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
4. Video Synthesis: Post-processing the output to generate a high-quality video with synced lip movements is another area where I'm having trouble.

What I Need Help With:

• Recommendations on Model Architecture: Any advice or suggestions on architectures that are effective for LipSync tasks would be helpful.
• Dataset Suggestions: Guidance on publicly available datasets that are suitable for this type of project.

@MathewS424 Lip Sync is one of the hardest deep learning project which requires substantial amount of data. My advice is to skim through the related research papers, related datasets, architecture and metrics achieved mentioned there from using loss functions, schedulers, optimizers and other hyperparameters. There are also tons of open sourced models on hugging face which can help u in finetuning if u have limited datasets.
