create variable from string

In SWI-Prolog I can create a variable from a string like this:

?- term_string(T, "X"), var(T).
true. % because string starts uppercase

?- term_string(T, "x"), var(T).
false. % because string starts lowercase

Is there a way to do this in Scryer Prolog?
