Hello fellow NetBox users,
I'm looking for some ideas, how to manage VLANs on router interfaces.
In my example I have 2 routers, which each have a connection to an IX. This IX delivers separated services via VLANs. How would you model such case?
In the current implement of netbox, it's not possible to attach a VLAN Group to an interface or device scope. May be its worth a feature request to add a Scope for "DCIM > Device > Interface"
My idea was to create for each IX/Interface combination an own VLAN Group. Eg. "my.device.domain.com_IX" or "my.device.domain.com_ae10" This would help to keep track of used VLANs on that specific interface, and help to automate such interface configurations.
The VLANs in those VLAN Group then could be attached to Child Interfaces or directly to the parent interface.
How would you do something like this or do you have a better idea?
Regards
Alex
