@davelab6 @marekjez86 The NotoSansOldHungarianUI font's source file is ready. May I ask that the font be published on the "noto-fonts" project page?

@marekjez86 Marek! The original NotoSansOldHungarian font fix is almost done. I won't upload the fixed source code, if you don't publish UI version. I will not work unnecessarily.

@marekjez86 @davelab6
The Unicode submission https://www.unicode.org/wg2/docs/n4268.pdf , based on which you have developed ligatures in your version of NotoSansOldHungarian font, has not been introduced and has been ignored. it was just an attempt at reconciliation.
Pease send a feedback to the Unicode and check me back.
I believe Your wisdom.

I just got a message, that the https://www.unicode.org/wg2/docs/n4268.pdf document unfortunately valid. Please ignore #401 (comment)

@marekjez86 I reopened this issue according to document https://www.unicode.org/wg2/docs/n4268.pdf#page=7
It said that in 6th point the followings:

  1. True ligatures. In traditional manuscripts a
rather large set of ligatures is employed. These
ligatures are optional and should be invoked either
with OpenType features or by specifically
requesting them from a font with the use of
U+200D ZERO WIDTH JOINER. The list below
(reading from right to left) is not exhaustive
    , but it
is based on the ligatures supported in the 8-bit
fonts made by Gábor Hosszú and Győző Libisch,
    with some addition.

@marekjez86 I'm working on the original NotoSansOldHungarian-Regular font. I think about issue notofonts/noto-fonts#1364 (comment)

notofonts/noto-fonts#1364 (comment) was just a trial only, several of subscribers can not remember this document.

I try to resolve some problems from https://github.com/googlefonts/noto-fonts/issues/2102#issue-926573413 , but I know well, that Microsoft blocks Old Hungarian scripts in MS Word and MS Edge. András Tisza asked him supporting ability of Old Hungarian script, but they answered, they lose a lot of money on Hungarian market. They answered that, if András would like to be unlocked this ability, give a large mount of money. The discussion on the MS support page blocked, too.

@marekjez86 Why notofonts/noto-fonts#1374 (comment) reopened? Once you've got an answer from the Unicode, that doc https://unicode.org/wg2/docs/n4110.pdf was just an attempt at reconciliation.
I will not continue to develop capitalized ligatures (I were working on it) because in this case there is no point in working on it further.
There is a smaller group that wants to replace long vowels with accented short vowels. This is nonsense.

The standard is the following: https://unicode.org/charts/PDF/U10C80.pdf
The code point of "short Old Hungarian A" is U+10C80, code point of the "Old Hungarian AA (long A)" is U+10C81. Why do you think, that required two versions of encoding have the same letter?

@marekjez86 In the notofonts/noto-fonts#1374 is refered nyevmuveles.hu by David Corbett. The editor of nyelmuveles.hu criticizes the "Old Hungarian" standard without accents because, according to him, students with poor learning cannot learn this. It is based on the fact that smarter students take part in the "Old Hungarian" competition. Although he does not say this openly. The situation is that students with worse conditions could also learn. It was not included in the National Core Curriculum for political reasons. There has also been an attempt to teach gypsy children who are notoriously harder to learn. They learned to write "Old Hungarian" faster than our Latin-based writing.

@marekjez86 The editor of nyelvmuveles.hu, referred by David Corbett, can only repeate himself, that in his opinion the accuteless Old Hungarian script unteacheable all student, because of that, "he is a teacher". He forget, that there are more teachers among the organizers of the competitions. Their experience is different.

@marekjez86 Do you still think the use of accents in the "Old Hungarian" unicode font? I think this issue: notofonts/noto-fonts#1374 (comment)
This issue duplicate the number of long vowels, and make khaos in texts written Old Hungarian letters. The Unicode document L2/11-242R was ignored, newer was accepted.
