I've tried uninstalling, re-installing, revoking Twitter rights on the Twitter website, manually removing ~/.rainbow_oauth, everything. But when I start up RainbowStream these days, all I get is...

You are running latest version (1.5.5)

Hi there! We're gonna get you all set up to use Rainbow Stream.
There seems to be a connection problem.
You might want to check your proxy settings (host, port and type)!

Help?

Hi @Asparagirl just stumbled on this on bounty source.
To actually resolve the issue, you could try launching rainbowstream from a python2 virtual environment.

@Asparagirl is your issue solved? Please update
It seems to work fine for me with:

sudo pip3 install rainbowstream
rainbowstream
