It seems to me to have just seen in the Ordo for the Diocese of Rome that Saint Nicholas was an obligatory memorial on Dec. 6th.

Shouldn't it be an optional memorial? Is it different in the Diocese of Rome? Will need to double check this.

In the Italian 3rd edition 2020, it's an obligatory memorial.

In the Italian 2015 edition (a reprint of the 1983 edition), it's an optional memorial.

In the Latin 2002 edition, it's an optional memorial.

So I guess Saint Nicholas being an obligatory memorial was introduced for Italy in the 2020 edition.
