Errors when installing apps

Errors like this make a lot of people annoyed with using the software manager.
Why can't it do that automatically huh?.

I get your point, but just running dpkg and making changes to the users systems is a worse option as the user would not know what these changes are. The user should be is control of their system.

A mature system like Mint shouldn't suggest solutions like that. I guess the optimizations of Wilma over Virginia aren't yet completed.

It seems, Mint accelerated with their Os updates. Why this rush?

This is a standard error message (and correct instruction to fix the problem) for when an install is interrupted somehow - either a network error or your computer crashing or any other reason. It generally a pretty rare occurrence.

It's difficult to make software handle all possible problems from any potential source - we can do our best, and handle what the documentation for libraries we use instruct us on, and this is what's being done here. The message from the failing system is reporting the message, and mintinstall is passing it on to you, the user. You can run it, it's not a suggestion from Reddit or some other untrusted source.

It would be difficult to run this command on behalf of the user because it requires administrative privileges (sudo), and mintinstall does not have them. Even so, what if it still fails? We still need an error message, and we're still here with it not working.

Running dpkg --configure -a will probably fix this. It goes without saying to try and avoid interrupting package management-type operations in the future.

Installing shouldn't need the terminal. User friendly???. Simple errors like this tend to be tedious when pointed at the user... It's just bad user experience..

I get that the user needs to be in control, and error handling is an issue. But I sometimes close the software manager when it's installing and when I try to install again... It gives me this.. I believe nobody wants this.. if they is somebody they should say...

But.... don't do this!! The software manager even tries to warn you if you attempt to close it via normal methods:

Oh well 😂 what if it's stuck...
I never see the box .But it's I always bugging when I think of installing software via the store. It looks like it's a problem on my end so yah.
