Implement block device manager which is able to:

detect currently attached block devices (FD, CD, HD etc.) and their media [on boot]
detect currently available partitions [on boot]
track media/partitions addition and removal [during normal system operation]
hold managed data in a dynamic memory (minimal static data is permitted and seems necessary)

It is acceptable (and advisable, in some way) to re-use Kolibri code CleverMouse is currently working on (with corresponding copyright notice).
