Clickable area of video controls

The clickable area of the video controls could be larger. For the play/pause and fullscreen icon for example, only the actual icon area is clickable. This should expand to the sides, to the edge of the video, a bit above etc. Same for the seek bar – only the bar itself is clickable. This can easily expand below til the edge of the video, and above in a similar fashion.
