WiFi networks and Bluetooth devices are hidden behind menus

Currently in order to switch wifi networks or bluetooth devices, you must click on the upper right hand panel element, click on the respective menu, and then open a new window in order to change one of them as can be seen here:

Proposal

It would make a lot more sense to be able to click the panel element, click on the menu, and then have the first 3 or 4 available devices that you can connect to shown there. You should not need to click "Select Network" or "Bluetooth Settings" in order to find a network/device to switch to.
