Dock freaks out on auto hide

When I have the dock auto hide and only display on a single monitor it will continually try and pop up and hide when my mouse is all the way to the bottom edge of the screen. If I move the mouse up just a little bit it stays there, but when I move it to the edge again it times out and tries to hide but then freaks out again. I would add some system information, but I'm not certain what would be useful.
