CTIMS - Gsoc (175 hours ; intermediate difficulty; React and Node, AI, LLM , Text extraction)

a) a project title/description

CTIMS Integrate with clinicaltrials.gov new API to prefill fields in CTML file

b) more detailed description of the project (2-5 sentences)

clinicaltrials.gov has released a new API to easily get information about clincial studies.
There are many meta data fields which are not used for matching. These fields can be prefilled from the API of clinicaltrials.gov.

This will reduce the time taken for the trial curator to create CTMLs and improve efficiency.

The key fields have to be extracted from the response of clinicaltrials.gov API using LLMs and inserted into appropriate fields in the meta data portion of the CTML file.

c) expected outcomes

After reading the required data from the API, the CTML will have all the sections in the meta data such as:

PI, Phase, status, Sites, Age group, Drug list, Management group, Sponsors, etc

d) skills required/preferred - experience in React, API, Node Js.

e) possible mentors - jagnathan

f) expected size of project (90, 175 or 350 hour – yes, 3 options starting in 2024) - 175 hours

g) Rating - intermediate difficulty
